Support schoolgirls of recently arrived refugees through well-being services, enabling new bonds of friendship through sport and cultural exchange, and offering mentorship and professional support to inspire a new generation of female leaders.

Support established Australians in their efforts to improve their cultural literacy and provide them with trusted pathways to support recently arrived refugee girls. Further, we will provide opportunities for skill-building and community impact experience

Develop partnerships with institutions to support their community impact goals for these institutions and their members (staff, students etc.)

Our Story

In late 2021 following the crisis in Afghanistan we came together as a group of well-wishers and decided we wanted to do something.

We wanted to raise funds and awareness, but most importantly build a community of support for the young women who had fled their homes and everything they knew.

Out of this came HerVillage Foundation and the idea for the Village Championship, a 3 day program involving Afghan girls and North Shore girls with the goal of building friendships and playing football.

This journey started with us wanting to help out. But what we saw unfold in front of us was really a partnership. There was an equal exchange between the two groups of young women.

At HerVillage, our vision is to create lifelong learning opportunities for girls who are recently arrived refugees in Australia.

These are our leaders of tomorrow.

They are not just here to survive, but to thrive.

And we all have a responsibility to empower them in that journey.

Our vision is a world where young women from refugee backgrounds are empowered to take leadership roles in every sphere of life, from business and politics to academia and the arts
